Holidays are Approaching

In my program, “Network Mingle Training: Survival Tactics for Working the Room”, I talk about the importance of creating systems that automate your business development activities at networking events yet still set you apart in building and maintaining client relationships. Holiday cards are one of those annual events that can do both. (BTW, if you would like to turn “wandering around marketing” at upcoming holiday gatherings into focused activity that produces results, now is an excellent time to suggest this workshop to your firm. See the attached for a complete description of the program available as a one-hour on-site workshop.)

Send a Thanksgiving card to your clients
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to let your clients know how much you appreciate the opportunity to work with them. Not only do you have the chance to say thank you in a very personal way, but your card will arrive weeks before the December mad scramble and showcase your thoughtful approach to your client’s business in a memorable way.

Now is the time to order your cards and get them ready for mail-out. Make the most of this important business development tool by following these simple steps.

Tips for preparing your holiday cards:

  • Print your recipient list on clear labels

  • Include a hand-written personal message in each card that sincerely expresses the importance of the client relationship to you

  • Hand sign each card

  • Use stamps vs. machine postage.

  • Time the mail-out so your cards will arrive the Friday before Thanksgiving week. Generally that means sending them out by the previous Wednesday.

  • Prepare a few cards every day so they will be ready in plenty of time to meet your mail-out schedule.
